All,

Starting tomorrow, 10/6/2025 through 10/15/2025, Denise and I will be traveling to the 21st Annual Barber Vintage Festival which takes place from October 9–11, 2026, at the Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, just outside Birmingham, Alabama. Like normal, during our travels I will be using a Satellite GPS Messenger which will allow people to follow my movements in real time. I use a Garmin InReach and below you will find a link to my Garmin MapShare.

I hope you guys are in a good place with that tropical storm heading your way. I also hope you have a safe space for your bikes, the winds look like they’re going to be blowing pretty hard. Hopefully Sunday will be a better day.

To quote a line from the The Holy Grail, “Bloody weather!”

Just a suggestion, take an Uber to the museum unless you are close.

Steve,

It never stopped raining today so we decided to take a day off the bikes and watch college football. The bike survived the storm with no damage.

Bob,

Bummer about the rain but it could have been worse if the storm hadn’t weakened. You still have a lot of events scheduled for tomorrow and of course the museum is still there too. Glad to hear the bikes are good 👍

Steve,

No worries, we planned this trip in July and who then that a hurricane would show up.

We're at the museum now and what a museum it's.

Bob,

Yeah, that’s how plans work out sometimes. As Shakespeare said, “the best laid plans of mice and men…”

I have to admit that I’m a bit jealous of you in the museum. That’s the biggest draw for me, and probably the only thing that could get me to Alabama!

Dang, I’ve actually been there myself! It’s located by the town of Hohenwald TN if memory serves. There’s a free campground there, and I spent the night there back in ‘07.
While I was breaking camp the next morning a state trooper came up and started talking to me. I was wondering what he could have possibly wanted to talk to me about, and it turned out that he was a BMW rider. He was super nice and gave me some good advice on which roads to ride on my way.
Thanks for bringing up that memory from my travels!

Steve,

You're welcome. We spent the night at the Home | The Dogwood Inn in Collinwood TN the night before which was awesome. Then visited the monument after we left the Trace to continue our way home. Overall the trip was grate and will be added to our memories from our travels.
