During our Zoom meeting Tuesday, Steve confessed to saying he was going to sell his beautiful Moto Guzzi Griso 8V SE.  And some other bike as well.  So, he trailered both bikes over to Motorado this week and here's the Grisso:

You can help him out by buying this iconic motorcycle and adding it to your stable.

You can also help me out be preventing me from buying it and having no place to house it.

If you have never ridden a Moto Guzzi, give yourself a treat, and it will cheer you up during a difficult time.  They are sweet bikes.

Thanks for the publicity Dan. I have to admit to a second thought or two as I drove away but it deserves to be ridden and enjoyed by someone in the vicinity of a good mechanic. It’s not completely stock however. It’s been fitted with the Guzzi Tech intake, exhaust, and the ECU was reflashed. The V twin torque is quite addictive.

Ride safe if you can get out there.

There's a good BMW mechanic in Grand Junction. You and Martin just need to trade bikes you've got at Motorado.

Larry, I knew that you had just gotten that BMW R NineT. I didn’t want you to ride my Griso, find out what an amazing bike it is, and then have to sell the beemer. Just looking out for you bro!

Interesting! They told me that I won’t hear anything from them until a week after it’s been sold in case of financing problems.

When my America sold at Motorado, they sold it to a guy in MN and they did not officially inform me until the customer's check had cleared or financing went throu, whichever, and I think a buyer has a few days to report problems.  They then made the check to me available and I went and picked up the check.

I'm just cleaning out the garage and I'm not using the Rocket enough and I still have the FJR.  I'm getting paid thru May 22nd and I am on Kris insurance but if I used BVSD insurance I would be covered all summer because I signed up to work next school year. And no I'm not working right now but still get paid and I wont work until school starts in August because I'm in the risk group.

Nice of BVSD to keep paying your salary,l assume school woud be out on May 22nd,pre-covid19.

Keep ahold of the FJR if you can,the "Swiss Army Knife" of sports tourers.Just too bad though,we can not do overnight trips without restrictions!Hang in there, mate!

The FJR is not going anywhere I love that bike. We are doing just fine, Kris has been working from home the last 8 weeks  so it's "almost" normal over here. Yes last day of school is May 21st pre-covid 19.
How are you doing? I assume you still working?

Yep,still working, still in shock as well!Half of the company was put on furlough in the middle of March,l escaped that fate (WHEW!!!!).

Furloughed techs got re-hired over the last two weeks.Office personal is a skeleton crew, working from home,32 hours max.Projects placed on hold due to outset of covid are being released, slowly.

Still need to be careful, because l bought a home late last year.Doing various outdoor projects and very little riding.Gotta make sure l keep making my Momma proud in these crazy times!!!!!

Well I tried to help out, but Motorado took a deposit just 30 minutes before I was able to get there this afternoon. Beautiful bike, hope the new owner enjoys it.

It's somewhat surprising that Motorado is doing so well but maybe it shouldn't be.  All those stimulus checks coming in and people looking for a place to spend it I guess!

My BMW has disappeared off the Motorado web page and when I called them last week they had a sale pending so it looks like I may be able to pick up a check on Monday.  That means I'm officially down to one bike and I'll likely stay that way at least until after i retire (tentatively, 4 to 6 years away.)   The Bonnie will be getting a new windscreen but otherwise seems to be doing well as an "all around" motorcycle.

I did take a "personal day" last week to put a couple hundred miles on the Bonnie.  FWIW Highway 126 from Pine Junction to Deckers was great and almost no traffic.  Gravel in the usual spots near the Cheesman lake trailhead.

Many of the businesses in Woodland Park remained closed, not sure how they are doing now.  I looked in vain for a mom-and-pop hamburger stand for lunch but couldn't find one and finally settled on Sonic for lunch.

The Bonneville is an excellent all-around motorcycle.  I considered it a downgrade when I traded an R1200GS for mine, but I get a lot more use out of it than I was getting out of the BMW.   Part of that may be lifestyle/priority changes, but frankly it’s just more fun to ride.

Of course, none of that stopped me buying three additional bikes in the next three years...

Martin; did you decide on rear shocks for your Bonnie?  I finally installed the Progressive fork springs in my bike, and it's a great improvement.  Much tauter that stock, but not stiff, with less dive when braking.  Have taken a short 40 mile ride since, and love the handling.  EWB

Remember Martin, motorcycles are like doges, they get lonely if there is just one in the garage.

Congrats on selling the R1150.  I like my Bonnie and being vertically challenged it's easier to ride than the R1200 but the power of the Beemer is pretty intoxicating.

Just did a morning ride over Gore and Vail passes.  Went through Edwards and Vail and there were certainly a lot of people out and about.
