RMRATS:  Last June quite a few of you came out to celebrate my brother Don's 50th birthday up in Windsor.  He was in the nursing home there and of course was unable to leave or have any visitors due to COVID restrictions.  We wanted to make his birthday special with a motorcycle parade and I have to say he really enjoyed the celebration, it really brought a lot of joy to him at a time when things were very tough going, health-wise.

What I didn't tell you is that he was also battling cancer at the time and had been for a number of years.

Don passed away yesterday at the age of 50 and I wanted to let you know and to say thank you again to the group for making his last birthday so special.  It really meant a lot to him and it means a lot to me.

Martin, I am so sorry to hear this. Terrible news in any case, but even worse with this fucking plague.  Please let us know if we can do anything.

Martin,

I'm sorry to hear of your brother's passing. You and your family are in my pairs.
Like everyone, 2020 was been a challenging year for Denise and I. Denise lost both of her parents and I lost my Father last year. All I know is, I have never experienced so much death in one year.

My condolences. I have fond memories of that ride and parade and the joy that it seemed to generate. I expect a few of us, including me, have lost a brother along the way. I hope you and your family can focus on the good times and happy stories, of which I'm sure there were many.

Take care,  Brian W.

Martin,

I lost my brother when he passed away at 35 years young so I can relate to the grief. While I was not part of that parade last year, just hearing how much joy it brought your brother made me smile.  The RATs are a kind group so please reach out if you need any support in this time of sadness.  And always remember the good times you and he shared together.  Condolences.

Sorry to hear of your loss Martin.  I lost my brother to cancer in 2020 after a long fight.  He was 68.  The last 6 months of his life were no fun so I take solace in his passing as difficult as it was.

I too missed the ride but I'm sure he appreciated the thought and effort.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you.  God Bless!
