Once a year, amateurs can drive their personal cars on the Nürburgring race track in Germany.

It's not just once a year, it's *every day*, weather permitting and provided the track is not rented out for an event.  I hope to do it some day; the complication is that rental car companies got wise to this maybe 15 years ago and specifically don't allow this.
