For some reason I thought someone in our group recently got a Yamaha TW200.

If you did (or have owned one in the past) what do you think of it?  I'm thinking of getting a little dual sport bike just for very mild trail riding.  TW200 is at the top of the list just because I like the way they look and they seem like they'd be fun to putt around on.  They have a bit of a "cult following" but that can be a good thing in terms of information resources.

Alternate choices would likely be something like the Suzuki DR200SE, Kawasaki Super Sherpa or Yamaha XT225.

Martin; I recently had a DR200SE.  It is a great off-road bike, but a bit buzzy and slow for street rides.  Was considering a TW200, however they are really pricey, both new and used.  Same for the Super Sherpa (used)  Like the fact that all of these are air-cooled and e-start.  EWB

Another alternative is the Suzuki Van Van, although they haven't been around too long, and used would pricey.  WKE

If you’re looking at an XT225, why not a KLX250S? Better at everything.
