Adam and I left Steamboat Springs just before 06:00, with the idea of getting to the RMNP before timed entry began at 09:00. We were early, arriving at the park at 07:40.

The ride was a bit chilly. Adam's thermometer recorded a low of 36.

While on Rabbit Ears Pass, a truck a couple of hundred feet ahead of us ran into a deer. Truck: 1, deer: 0.

Although the ride through the park was good, many people were up and about. Traffic must be bad later in the day.

The cafe at the top of Trail Ridge didn't open until 09:00, so we had a surprisingly good breakfast in Estes Park.

As always, it was great to see everyone.

I arrived home at 1:40.  Left solo from Rabbit Ears but then rode with Tim, Erin, and Tomas on 14 until about Rustic. Then 27 South to Rist Canyon Rd, which I hadn't been on in a while. Fun road.

E-Steve - thanks again for coordinating everything. The motel was great, as was the Saturday ride and dinner together. Looking forward to our next one!

Chris.

Also made it home ok. Took 14 through Walden to Ft. Collins, then South to Lakewood. Longer and slower than going up on US 40, but light traffic

Great weekend, good to see everyone, and thanks to E-Steve for arranging everything!!

Annette and I arrived in Montrose after a leisurely ride home that included lunch in Meeker and a refreshingly cool ride across the Grand Mesa. We had a fantastic time drinking to excess and BSing with everyone in Steamboat. We were so happy to be there with our dear friends from RMRAT.

I will add our voices to those giving props to E-Steve for setting up a great event. You did a bang up job on your first year of leadership. Huzzah!

I got home around 2:30, had a nice ride back despite a little bit of traffic. It was really great to hang out and chat with everyone!

A huge shout out to E-Steve for corralling us all and shuttling the coolers!

Thanks E-Steve!  Great weekend!  Great to see everyone!  Always great to learn the “nuances” of motorcycling from those who have been there!

That was quite an unexpected route you took home. I guess that you’ve already ridden most of the other roads in Nebraska. Glad you made it home safely.

Steve,

Yes, when we stopped in Walden I looked at the map and noticed that HWY 14 would take us to Holyoke. Then HWY 23 to Holdrege. We have never ridden 23 and it's really good. There are really corners.

Capt.Bob

I assume you stayed on 14 via Ault,Raymer then onto Stirling?Ridden that road once.Very light traffic on this road, but cross winds would be an issue!

Good seeing Denise and yourself, see you in McCook in September
