route question

Hello guys,

I have to get to Palisade this coming week and am looking for a good route.  I see I can go into Leadville, take turquoise lake road, over Hagerman pass, then 105 into Glenwood. I know Hagerman is dirt, but how bad is it for a car?  Cheers!

Another option you can look at is head to Edwards and take Capital Street of Rt. 6 to Brush Creek Rd (FSR400. Heat  past Sylvan Lake and it will eventually become Eagle-Thomasville Rd. (Alternately you can go over Crooked Creek Pass Rd to Powerline Rd.). Eagle-Thomasville Rd. will eventually turn back into Brush Creek Rd. and then kind of name shares until it hits Frying Pan Road.  Take Frying Pan Rd. (4) past Reudi Reservoir until you hit Basalt.

CDOT has stopped construction in the Blue Mesa canyon and opened US 50 during the I 70 closure to 2 way traffic around the clock. It’s probably the easiest way to get to Palisade from the front range currently.

Thanks guys!  Looking at Hagerman and while it might lessen the mileage, it will probably increase the time and fuel consumption.  Will probably take the southern route at least one way so, we can meet up Steve!  Will be leaving Tuesday and heading home Thursday.  Cheers!
