Hey Ryan,

Look forward to seeing youse guys.  This one is fully paved, but of you want a bit of dirt, can always take the bypass from State Bridge to Kremmling and rejoin the group for lunch

Best regards,

Bullet Bob

Hey Bob,
I think Charlie and I will join you on Sunday.

Will it be an all paved speed fest, or some gravel/dirt thrown in the mix?
Trying to decide which bike to take.

Thanks,
Ryan

Trough Road… it’s dirt…sort of.  Something like asphalt pretending to be dirt …or dirt pretending to be asphalt. I am never quite sure which  :)

I rode my Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport down Trough road, so it ain’t too bad. Well it wasn’t 12 years ago…

It's not a all.  You see bicycles, road glides, etc.  It's technically dirt for the most part except the one curvy bit near the overlook/pull-off.  But it's kind of hard to tell where one ends and the other begins :)

He summed it up as a semi-rough road of some sort. But I can’t believe he’s a serious rider…

Nobody that has a lick of sense rides bare handed. That’s just stupid every day of the week. Period.

Even a minor mishap, on any ride, and the first thing we do is put our hands out to protect ourselves from the hit. With gloves, you’ll might still have some kind damage. Without gloves your palms are now meatballs, embedded with nasty granular stones. Your fingers and knuckles are trashed so bad you can’t hold a wad of TP to wipe your own ass, pick your nose, or worse, push the buttons on your I-phone or computer or whatever. Enjoy that recovery.

Maybe that was a little graphic. Oops, that’s the point I was trying to make. Ride with a pair, of gloves.

Heh.  Yeah, his gear or lack thereof, choices are definitely very poor.

I was referring to the "dirt, or something like it" comment.  That sums up the road fairly well.  Sometimes your riding along and your wondering if you are back to a paved section again or if it's still dirt. Some areas it's hard to tell.  :)

But in short, it's a road with some decent views and worth checking out for anyone that hasn't been :)

Bullet Bob - do you have the route mapped out yet? I would like to join but may not be able to do the whole thing. I wanted to see what options I might have based on the planned route.

Chris,

Highlights are Golden to Loveland Pass to Swan Mtn Pass to Copper/Fremont Pass to Leadville/Tennessee Pass.  Minturn to Walcott, up 131 to Toponas and Gore Pass to Kremmling.  40 over Berthoud Pass and home.  Split offs at Frisco and Minturn.  Hope this helps.

I will be there on Sunday. Based on time, I might split off after Lunch in Kremmling to take the North route back home via 34.

Still waiting to get my bike back together.  At this point I've lost the entire summer :(
