The shifter mechanism on that 1050 failed at about 300 miles and was fixed on warranty by “Foothills”. I cleaned & lubricated it,

So that explains the grease......!This is NOT one of Triumph's best designs,most notably that " natty" spring cir- clip thingy,big time pain putting that back together Larry

Took way longer than it should to put back together, resulting in missing the BMAC virtual meeting.Not sure if fixing this or waiting for parts is worse.......?

Maybe it’s supposed to be like that but is it possible that the part attached to the shift shaft is off by about 90 degrees? I’m trying to imagine how that can rotate the shaft from that position. Of course I am a long way away and can’t be there to help you, you lucky dog.
