RI DEM Announces Project WILD and Project WET Virtual Teacher Training

CALLING ALL FORMAL AND INFORMAL EDUCATORS!  RI DEM Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Aquatic Resource Education program announces the following FREE virtual teacher trainings:

 

Project WILD / Aquatic WILD -

Do you want to bring environmental education into your classroom or group setting but do not know where to start?  Project WILD and Aquatic WILD k-12 guides make it easy to introduce wildlife and their habitats into any subject.  These multi-disciplinary guides are complete with over 100 field tested activities to explore a variety of environmental topics.  Plus they are correlated to both NGSS and Core Curricula standards.  For more about the Project WILD suite of curricula, please visit www.fishwildlife.org/projectwild . You can get your guides mailed free to you once you complete the training! 

 

The FREE training includes three pre-training assignments and a three hour Zoom session will be held Tuesday February 23, 2021 from 6pm-9pm.

Project WET -

 

From examining a single water drop to learning about waterborne diseases and so much more, the Project WET 2.0 Guide will have your students learning about all aspects of water.  Project WET is a multidisciplinary, full-colored curriculum guide with 64 water-focused activities to explore a variety of environmental topics.  All activities are correlated to both NGSS and Core Curricula standards.  For more about Project WET, visit  www.projectwet.org .  You can get your guide mailed free to you once you complete the training!

These are awesome programs. I was trained in both years ago through Girl scouting and still use the activities in my classes. I highly recommend you check them out.
