I have an installation with ReviewBoard 2.5.7. I need to update this.
The 2.5.7 system is working and is using postgres 7 as the database. I can dump the postgres data without any issues (we would like to keep the history).

This all means that all our supporting software is super old. Python, Apache, etc. And the plan is to bring it all to current and supported levels.

The plan we have started is to build out a totally new system. This is on non-standard platform. Yes, we have current software so that should not be an issue.

I do have to perform many of the installation details manually.

Now for the questions:
What level of RB can I update to using an export/import method? The DB is postgres in both cases (9.3.5 to 11.21). Or is there a process I can follow for this?

I would like to move RB to as current of a version as possible. How close to 7 can I go to?

Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated.

Grover,

You should be able to go directly to the latest version.

What I would do is deploy the new system and validate the install, then drop the new database and replace it with a copy of the old. You will also want to copy over the uploaded files directory. After doing that, you should be able to run `rb-site upgrade` to migrate the database schema.

There are a few settings inside the database that may need to be changed if the system layout of the new install is different from the old. You can use the `rb-site manage /path/to/site/ list-siteconfig` and `rb-site manage /path/to/site/ set-siteconfig` commands to look at the existing settings and then fix up any which need to be corrected (for example, the file path to the uploaded media).
