Error while uploading a file if review is not publish

Hi Guys,

Have any of you encounter this issue. I was looking through the board but did not found any hint about this.

I have recently upgraded RB from 2.5.16 to 3.0.15. My old server is still running as live but new one is in testing phase.

rb-site 3.0.15

Python 2.7.5 (default, Aug 7 2019, 00:51:29)

[GCC 4.8.5 20150623 (Red Hat 4.8.5-39)]

Installed to /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/reviewboard

Problem as follow:

Steps to reproduce

Login to Reviewboard
Click “New Review Request” at the top.
Click “(None – File attachments only)”
Click Create Review Request
Fill in a ‘summary’ and ‘description’.
Observe the text boxes populating and the ‘saving’.

At this point you can reproduce the issue in one of two ways

Hit F5 to refresh the Page. Observe all edits are gone. You can press F5 multiple times it makes no difference. Hit CTRL+F5 to hard refresh without cache. observe the edits come back	From the ‘Update’ menu click “Add file” Add a caption and choose a file. Click Upload. The page refreshes. Observe all edits are gone. You can press F5 multiple times it makes no difference. Hit CTRL+F5 to hard refresh without cache. observe the edits come back

We’ve reproduced this on both Firefox and Chrome.

It does not occur on old RB server.

I get the same thing if I stop memcached.

Please can you help with this as I cannot see any error in RB logs or apache logs.

I did a fresh install of RB 3.0.15 with no data on it and reproduce the same issue.

is it a bug in RB or something with APACHE as I cannot find any log event even if I do debug.

Our old RB 2.5.16 don't show this behaviour.

Any pointer will be appreciated.

Hi Tahir,

I'm sorry, this slipped past my radar completely. It's been a busy month, with the holidays coming up and some end-of-year deadlines on our end, so community support has had to take a back seat temporarily.

I'm not entirely sure what the original issue is that you're seeing. I see the repro steps, which I really appreciate, but not seeing anything about what error you're hitting? Either way, it doesn't sound normal, but I'd need to know more.

Hi Christian,

Thanks for coming back to me. I don't see any error in Apache or reviewboard logs.

It is when I upload a file to newly created review entries on field, SUMMARY and DESCRIPTION vanishes. I can get back the entry if I press CTRL + F5.

Same is when I add entries to SUMMARY and DESCRIPTION and refresh the page all entries are gone and can get back to it by pressing CTRL + F5.

Let me know what info you need and I will upload here.

Hi Christian,

I upgrade RB 3.0.15 to 3.0.16 still have the same issue if I refresh after adding entries to SUMMARY and DESCRIPTION field and wait for saving and refresh and field are empty. Same is with file upload. I can get the entries back if I do Ctrl +F5.
