User account timezones

Hi all,

 

Is it possible to set a user’s timezone when creating accounts via the API (not the web GUI)?

 

Is it possible to set a default timezone for all new user accounts?

Hi Terry,

Hmm, we don't have that, but it's worth adding. It's possible via a script or database modification to do it for the users you want. It's just the 'timezone' field on the Profile model (or accounts_profile table).

Setting for all new accounts would require some changes. I'll think through this, see what makes sense to do. Feel free to reach out through the premium support channel if you need this expedited and we'll see what we can do, and make sure you get early builds to try.

Thanks Christian. As far as our use case goes, API access would be fine. We’d certainly use the default timezone if it were available, but the API would be very easy for us to take advantage of.
