Hi everyone,

I have just bought a Zbrojovka Brno clone of the Siemens T 100 Teletypewriter. I have downloaded the manual for the original Siemens machine from the Internet Archive.

I'm just wondering if there is anyone on this group who has expertise with teletypewriters in general, or this family of teletypewriters in particular who could advise me on the steps I need to follow to get it working, or if anyone knows of another forum or group where people who can advise about teletypewriters can be found.

I take it from watching YouTube videos and starting to read the manual that it is a good idea to oil and grease what needs to be oiled and greased, and the machine certainly needs a good clean.

Right now I get a power light, but nothing else. Pressing the neighbouring on-off button has no reaction - it does not start chugging away in independent mode as I have seen on YouTube videos.

Thanks,

James

You might try vintage-radio.net, the vintage computers section might be a good place to ask about this.

Teletypes are very old technology, but I wish you very good success and luck. When you can isolate the internal metal stuff you could consider an oil bath.
