 We have an opportunity with one of our clients. They are looking for a Systems Engineer – Multiple openings.  

Job title: Software Tester

Location: NYC/Remote

Duration: 12 months

 

Remote to start but will want someone onsite in NYC a few days a week in a few months:

• Work as part of an Agile team, helping to ensure that all User Stories have a well-documented User Acceptance Criteria, and that those tests are executed within the iteration cycle.
• Working closely with developers on detailed designs to derive test objectives.
• Investigating how new requirements and features fits into the automation test suite, understand scope and collaborating with other stakeholders.
• Re-test fixes for defects.
• Maintain test cases up to date.
• Work with the team and other automation testers with regards to test preparation, test execution, test data and tool usage.
• Plan and coordinate all cycles of testing, including functional-level system tests business scenario-based testing, to ensure proper test coverage while mitigating redundancy where possible.
• Facilitate the efficient resolution of issues, by providing initial triage for issue disposition.
• Preparing Test Scenarios, Test Cases for module, integration, and system testing.
• Executing the Test Cases & Defect Tracking.
• Participate in daily scrums features planning discussions.

Skills & Requirements

• Expertise in the planning, constructing and execution of release tests and is responsible for applying technical and functional knowledge to meet the team’s overall test objectives.
• Minimum of 6 months of work experience in software testing.
• Demonstrated ability to independently interpret requirements and functional and technical specifications, translate into thorough test plans and test cases, and execute test cases.
• Candidate should have experience in software testing lifecycle (analyzing the business requirements, support in preparing the test plans, creating the test cases, monitoring bugs, checking bug fixes).

The following are not required for this position but would be considered as a valuable asset in a potential candidate.

• Knowledge of any Test Management Tool and a basic understanding of web technologies.
