Position: Data Modeler/Architect
Location: New York Hybrid (Weekly twice)
Duration: 12+ Months
Responsibilities:
Maintain logical and physical data models along with accurate metadata.
Develop, implement, and support the usage of data visualization toolkit, configuration, deployment, and usage.
Create conceptual data models to identify key business entities and visualize their relationships.
Support teams through all project phases including knowledge transition phase.
Present and communicate modeling results and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Ensure and enforce a governance process to oversee implementation activities and ensure alignment to the defined architecture.
Extract key insights for an executive audience, conveying them in clear, concise written and visual summaries, employing data-driven charts, maps and graphics where appropriate.
Perform data profiling/analysis activities that help to establish, modify, and maintain data models.
Communicate physical database designs and dba and explain features that may affect the physical data model.
Regularly engage and consult stakeholders on solving business problems through data, guiding the conversation rather than following orders.
Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions with a strategic approach.
Skills:
Strong experience data modeling:
Strong understanding of Logical, Physical, Conceptual, Hierarchical, Network and Relational data models
Strong understanding data modeling methodologies (Bill Inmon, Ralph Kimball etc.)
Experience of using at least one data modeling tool like Erwin etc.
Experience in Azure is a must.
Good knowledge of data modeling tools like Erwin, Toad etc
Prior experience towards working as a data modeler and designed data models for given KPIs / use cases from scratch
PnC Domain knowledge will be an added advantage
Knowledge of Agile framework
Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team structure, but also independently
Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across client teams
Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to problem solving
Able to absorb ongoing new technical information, business acumen, and apply it effectively.
