Location: MD

Duration : 12+ Months

Key Responsibilities:

• Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models to represent data structures and relationships.
• Define data entities, attributes, keys, and their interconnections.
• Use modeling techniques such as Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERD), UML diagrams, or other modeling languages/tools.
• Analyze existing data sources to understand data quality, patterns, and anomalies.
• Profile data to identify inconsistencies, redundancies, and data integrity issues.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather data requirements.
• Understand the business processes and objectives that the data models must support.
• Apply normalization techniques to reduce data redundancy and improve data integrity.
• Optionally, denormalize data for performance optimization when necessary.
• Proficiency in using data modeling tools such as ERwin, IBM Data Architect, or similar software.
• Work closely with database administrators (DBAs) to translate logical data models into physical database designs.
• Optimize database schemas for performance and scalability.
• Ensure that data modeling follows industry best practices and organizational data governance policies.
• Maintain data modeling standards and guidelines.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data models and their attributes.
• Keep model documentation up-to-date as changes are made.
• Collaborate with data engineers, ETL developers, and data scientists to ensure data models align with the data integration and analytics requirements.
• Perform data model reviews and validations to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Conduct peer reviews and quality checks.
• Assist in data migration projects by mapping data from source to target systems.
• Define data transformation rules and logic.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks related to data models and database design.
  
  

What you need (knowledge, Skills & Experience)

• Strong experience in data modelling tools like ERWin, ER/Studio, Microsoft Visio etc.
• Knowledge of Data Modelling - Toad Data Modeler, SAP PowerDesigner
• Experience modelling for advanced data types / formats like JSONs, XMLs, special format files etc.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  
  

Good to have If candidate worked on FinOps (Financial Operations) Projects.
