Role: Azure Data Architect – Reporting

Location: Princeton NJ / REMOTE ok but need to travel 1-2 in Quarter

Duration : Long term

P&C Must

Responsibilities:

Achieves organizational goals by defining, integrating, and upgrading a comprehensive architecture to support databases, platforms, and analytical applications.

Maintains database by determining structural requirements adherence to regulations / mandates

Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information

Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality

Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications

Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions

Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts

Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements

Optimize new and current database systems

Define security and backup procedures

Coordinate with the Data Science department to identify future needs and requirements

Provide operational support for Management Information Systems (MIS)

Assist in defining infrastructure for design and integration of analytical platforms / systems by analyzing requirements, studying business operations and user-interface requirements, and directing database development

Determines platform architecture, technology, and tools.

Skills:

Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Lead Data Analyst or similar role

Expertise in SQL and data visualization tools (Power BI , IBM Cognos)

In-depth understanding of database design principles

Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques

Knowledge of database modelling techniques like hierarchical, relational, entity-relationship, and dimensional

Good knowledge of Bill Inmon and Ralph Kimball methodologies

Hands-on knowledge of Azure

Proficiency in MS Excel

Proven analytical skills

Ability to improvise and find workarounds

Adaptability and curiosity with strong problem-solving attitude

Presentation and communication skills
