Sr. Cloud Engineer

Need people working on working on Event Driven / Serverless architecture. The integration with their services is very tightly coupled à results in us only needing to write business logic i.e. we don’t need people who are 100% focused on Python Web Development and Microservices.  



HAS TO HAVE: Software Engineering background but has moved into an AWS Cloud Development role / background.

• Lambdas / Step Functions – need someone who can build ASL for the step-function and understand how it gets triggered with the event function.

• Lambda = Event-Driven Compute Services
• Step Functions = Visual Workflow Services
• ASL (Amazon States Language) à defines the state machine.
• When they talk about working on logic, what they mean is using Python to define the services and determine when to use which.
• AWS Event Bridge is another major component which is a serverless event bus that ingests the data from the apps.

• Don’t want to pay extra for the compute, they would rather fold it into the step-function.
• Dynamo DB is VERY highly preferred, so they get how the indexes work and how data is retrieved.
• AWS IAM roles (AWS Identity & Access Management) à how do they work?
