I would like to know if it is possible to apply bold, underlines, or other text formatting to labels or expressions with report manager.

Applying format or styles to part of a label/expression is not implemented. It's really challenging, because it requires a parser for the format, for example, html

And the most difficult, a rendering engine, to apply the styles, like Chrome Renderer (measuring and rendering), but this is really difficult to integrate in Report Manager Engine, as the final output must be divided into single drawing primitives, to be processed by the output driver (PDF, Windows GDI, Dot Matrix printer driver...), so the rendering engine should be capable of measuring a formatted text, and returning the basic primitives.
