Gerrit 3.9 – Continuous (status:new OR status:merged OR status:abandoned) queries in show-queue

Hi Team,

We recently upgraded our Gerrit instance to version 3.9. Everything worked fine initially, but 4 days after the upgrade, we started seeing continuous entries like:

(status:new OR status:merged OR status:abandoned) status:merged

in the Index-Interactive queue of gerrit show-queue.

• No manual reindex operations are running.

• The thread dumps and logs do not provide clear details about what is triggering these queries.

• This activity is causing a noticeable increase in system load.

Could you please advise if this behavior is expected in 3.9, or how to identify and fix the source of these Index-Interactive tasks?

Hi Dasari,

I’d recommend looking into the traffic patterns and identifying who is making those requests: the username is in every log entry.
