We are currently using the metrics-reporter-prometheus plugin on our Gerrit instances for monitoring and planning to use the JMX plugin instead of the metrics-reporter-prometheus.Are there any more metrics we will get using the metrics-reporter-prometheus plugin than JMX?
As per the list at the URL below, which plugin gives us a better insight into Gerrit metrics?
https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/admin/repos/q/filter:metrics-reporterThey plugin in to the same metric-pipeline in Gerrit, so by default there should be no difference.
I think metrics-reporter-prometheus and metrics-reporter-jmx are very much comparable with regards to which metrics they produce.
If you are setting up a monitoring stack for Gerrit you might want to look at the gerrit-monitoring project? It might provide you with what you need.
Please suggest.

Simply put "metrics-reporter-.*" plugins are adapters between Gerrit's internal metric pipeline (dropwizard.metrics) and external monitoring systems/protocols.
Great! Thank you, Sven and Matthias, for the clarification.
