Inrico B01 Bluetooth Mic: Auto-gain?

When I hear people using the Inrico B01 bluetooth mic with Repeaterphone, their mic gain is waaaaay too hot when they start transmitting, and after speaking a syllable or two, that level is being reduced. It’s very noticeable and very loud initially.

 

Is that something in the B01 itself, and can it be disabled?

 

Or is this audio processing on the phone trying to compensate for the hot level from the mic?
