[VOTE] Registry release 0.5.3 RC1

Hi,

This is a vote thread for RC1 of Registry 0.5.3. You can get src and binary artifacts at the release location[1].

 

ISSUE-467: UI fails to load schemas without schema versions

ISSUE-470: Hibernate-validator updated with 5.4.2 which is in sync with drop-wizard-s dependency.

ISSUE-465: Replace ClientBuilder with JerseyClientBuilder.

MINOR:      Fix flyway shell migration error.

MINOR:      Addressed FlyWay lib dependencies which caused security vulnerabilities.

 Did "mvn clean install".
 Created a schema, added a branch, merged a schema version to "master" branch.
 Deleted all the schema versions for a schema and checked if the UI renders properly and added a new schema version to the empty schema.

Built and ran newer client against existing 0.5.1 server.

stood up a fresh standalone server and checked it started and ran a simple sample flow.

When i downloaded the source zip file and ran mvn clean install i get below error

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.codehaus.mojo:buildnumber-maven-plugin:1.4:create-metadata (default) on project registry-common-client: Execution default of goal org.codehaus.mojo:buildnumber-maven-plugin:1.4:create-metadata failed.: NullPointerException



Other than that i noticed that version at https://github.com/hortonworks/registry/blob/v0.5.3rc1/pom.xml#L9 is 0.5.2-SNAPSHOT. Is that correct?

+1 on the binaries 

I was able to start SR using mysql, create schemas and play around with some operations in UI.

Thanks Priyank for reporting the error while building from source archive.

That error is thrown while trying to generate VERSION file by using got revision but the existing source dir is not a git repo. I will fix this in common-client/pom.xml to take care of this case.
