Hi all,

I am currently working on a RedCap project, and have uploaded using the Excel template data. The data format is in rows, with multiple lines of rows corresponding to one study ID

However, when I export the data spreadsheet, I only get the first row of data. How do I export the data, such that I get all the rows of data?

Thanks!

R Chow,
It will depend on how the REDCap is set up. If it is patient level you could use repeating forms, then in your import indicate which line is which instance.

Don’t use excel it doesn’t play well with redcap. Try libreoffice or Mac numbers

Let us know if that doesn’t work

Hello R Chow,

You can change “comma” to “semi-colon” on REDCap export options where you choose csv file. But you can not import “semi-colon” separated file back to REDCap.
You can change this separators on notebook simply CTRL+H and substitute ; for , or vice versa.

Google docs also deal well with csv files, but libreoffice is your best choice.

I know that feel bro, I spend almost a week getting me crazy with these thing.
I checked all the examples and documentation, but the "issue" is in your computer and you won't find anything in the web, because all the examples and tutorials are done by people with different settings (usually US people) that we use (in from Spain)

You must go to your Windows locale, and check your format settings (check attached image)

Find the "list separator" and change to ,  (comma).
Now, reboot your pc and this should work

Is the data all there, just all on one line? Your Excel is not recognising the line breaks? Try opening the csv export file in a text Editor to take a proper look at exactly what's in it.
