Please find below the high level JD for VMware Engineer skills which was shared in our vRA/vRO group earlier. I have amended it a bit to reflect the interview questions asked by Yazee in interviews.
Years of experience - 8+ years
Must have:
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design solutions within the vRealize Automation environment.
· Expertise with vRealize suite automation activities eg: catalog / template development, subscriptions, etc.
· Expertise with vRealize orchestrator like workflow & action development, configuration element, resource management, API integration with Javascript, etc.
· Design, create, and maintain workflows to automate IT processes across the enterprise.
· Working experience with Day1 (resource provisioning) & Day2 (resource management) actions development with vRA/O
· Working experience with integrating various tools (AD, SMTP, SNOW,INFOBLOX, DNS,CMDB etc..) with vRA/O
· Hands on experience with integration with third party tools using vRA/O using API or script etc.
· Develop custom workflows for provisioning, approvals, and other tasks.
· Good in debug/troubleshoot problems, both on software and systems level.
· Proficiency in scripting languages including JavaScript, Bash & Python
· Should have understanding of IaaS, PaaS services blueprints and its integration with ITSM tools like ServiceNow , BMC Remedy for consumptions.
· Proficiency in source control tools like Github, Bitbucket
· Understanding of complete catalog provisioning and its integration with configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, Salt Stack etc..
· Should have working knowledge of API/REST
· Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network, security, and storage engineers.
· Effective communication skills.
Good to have:
· Experience with configuration management tool eg: Ansible/Chef development and integration with vRO
· Hands on experience with Terraform & Ansible development
· Knowledge of SDN, Storage domain
· Experience in Devops skills Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
· Experience in any of Cloud Technologies e.g. AWS, Azure
· Vmware Certification will be a plus
