Thinking about the core concept (http://openardf.org/index.php/ardf-open-equipment-project/equipment-concept/), it will be very desirable to support the two dominant operating systems used in smartphones and tablets. To readily develop user interface apps that run on both iOS and Android products, I recently came across the following:

The B4x products allow one to write native apps in BASIC. With some tweaking, it appears that Android apps can be converted to iOS apps (and vice versa), allowing much of the code to be shared. The B4i and B4a products can be purchased as a bundle for under $200. That isn't the same as free, but the license to use those products never expires. Also
applications developed with B4a and B4 are royalty free. So it is just a one-time purchase. It might be worth the expense in order to have apps that run on two popular platforms.

There are also B4j and B4R products that support desktop and Arduino (respectively), and are available for free.

It might be interesting to try B4j to develop a simple interface to control a transmitter over USB, since there would be no cost involved.

Interesting
It would be good to have something that works on different platforms. That gives us a wide user base.
The b4j free version sounds like a good way to test the idea for the transmitter controller.

I saw this video on YouTube https://youtu.be/LNQY91_wEkw today.

Would be nice if our app could save GPS data and other sensor data like BPM ( hart rate) and do post event processing to bring in GoPro video and overlay the data on the event map in the post processed video. Every one could replay there run and analyze what was good and what could be improved.
