Position: Sr. Web Engineer (JavaScript w/ Vue, React, Vanilla) – Front-End Engineering
Location: New York City, NY
Contract length: 24+ months (estimated between 2-3 years)
Interviews:
1.1st step is a basic MasterCard code challenge** (front-end code challenge).
2.The 2nd step is a semi-technical interview with one of the Technical Team Leads, you will discuss your code challenge solution and theory on various applicable topics.
3.The 3rd (final) step is an interview with one of the VPs of Software Engineering for the program.
** Code Challenge: You will complete a JavaScript challenge (work and complete from home, prior to your semi-technical interview – the 2nd step). GitHub will be the repository for your work.
Must Haves:
•Senior-level JavaScript engineering expertise - less focused on Pixel-Perfect development (although an understanding of UX principles and standards is important) and more geared towards "code in the browser".
•Ideal candidate will have worked on:
oTokenization, Encryption, Signatures, etc. in a JavaScript context.
•Expertise in ECMA6 / ECMA7. For example:
oPromises
oScoping
oLiterals
oMap/Set, WeakMap, WeakSet
oArrow Functions
oTyped Arrays
oClasses
oDestructuring
•Expertise in CSS & Preprocessors such as LESS, Stylus, etc.
•Possess a solid understanding of two or more component-based frameworks and their ecosystems
1.Vue
2.React and/or Vanilla (React is preferred)
•Have an appreciation for the complexities associated with writing JavaScript SDKs, libraries, and third-party integration code.
oThe JS that this Engineer will write will talk directly to Java-based Microservices & RESTful Services.
•The ideal candidate will have gained expertise in enterprise-class shops, while engineering solutions that function at scale. The bigger and “cloudier”, the better.
•Must possess a Quality Engineering mindset & gladly writes Unit Tests
oWill be using tools such as Mocha, Karma, Protractor, Cucumber, Jasmine, etc.) with a smile on their face.
•We DO NOT want JS Ninjas, Script Kiddies, or Web Vikings. We need true Engineers, who have plowed their programming career line using JavaScript, as opposed to Java, C#, etc. (Candidates should know JavaScript backwards and forwards).
