Urgent electrolyte capacitor needed

Hi guys,

  Completely on the off chance, would anyone have a spare 1uF 50V electrolyte from Panasonic or any other reputable Japanese manufacturer, to pick up today? Happy to pay with money or beer!

  I’m recapping one of my top end subwoofers, and, as luck would have it, I missed just 1 of those on my BOM when ordering at DigiKey…

Doesn't sound like anyone has it today. I now ordered a dozen, it'll arrive next Wedneday. So if anyone is urgently after electrolytes, let me know, I have a selection now. :)

Just saw this sadly - I have several 1uF 50v electrolytic capacitors, dunno about reputable manufacturer but they have worked OK for me – Koshin brand.

 

It’s a little thing – 6mm tall, 4mm, is that right?

 

You are very welcome to come and get it if it’s what you need – let me know and I could put it outside in a container?

  Still very much need one, thank you! It is indeed a very little thing. Just the one I desoldered is properly gone, with Vloss and ESR off the scale.

  I can pick up any time this morning or late afternoon from wherever in or around Reading - just let me know where. Huge thanks!

  Also, what do you want for them? Happy to pay in whatever way that works.

Hi Maksym,

 

You could pop over anytime from now, at the address in my signature?  If you ping me your ETA via text message I can be ready to greet you – having a sort-out in my workshops.

 

I’ve bagged up 3 of them, so if you have the metering knowhow, you get a shot at post production quality control and/or spares for any issues assembling the board.

 

The ‘delta’ cost of them would be barely calculable and I just picked up half a car boot full of random gear via Richard, so no charge!

 

I’m interested how you measure Vloss and ESR, do you have specialist tools or a trick with a multimeter?

Thanks a lot, Alex, I will be on my way in 30 minutes and let you know my ETA soon.

I’ll bring the component tester with me and can demonstrate - it just measures the Vloss and ESR at 10kHz (or 100? Need to check). It is possible to approximate that while the component is still on the board, but that’s a lot more random.
