Hi,

I wonder first of all would this combination of modules work with a Classic II base kit and backplane.

1 CPU from Classic II
2 Clock from Classic II
3 Serial from Classic II
4 RAM/ROM 512kb Upgrade I know that does
https://z80kits.com/shop/512k-rom-512k-ram-module/

5 Compact Flash v2 Upgrade I guess this does

https://z80kits.com/shop/compact-flash-module/ and 128mb card

6 USB module

7 LCD Display NEW
8 Case front panel NEW

Or do I need to swap the USB module for the RTC clock https://z80kits.com/shop/ds1302-real-time-clock-module/
to keep the romWBW happy

The final question what's the version of MS Basic ands where do you get a guide for it from? I notice archive.org has a load of legacy books if someone recalls one.
I'd also be interestd in one for BBC Basic and the Pascal that runs on CP/M.

Next on my list find out how to daisy chain backplane 8s together mentioned by a Alan Cox who might be extremely busy if it is who I think it is.

Regards Daniel

Nope. I'm retired.

I spent the day debugging emulators for obscure processors, playing trains, drinking beer and playing with a hot and rather demanding pussy.

Strongly recommend being retired.

You can find a BBC basic pdf on GitHub riwide . I had it printed by Lulu for my personal use . In other folders are software and doc for other apps.

The most recent MS Basic manual is available at BITSAVERS, but that one is for V5.
MS BASIC V5.2 can be loaded and run from CP/M and is included in all of the distributions available for the any RC2014.

The standard MS BASIC for RC2014 Mini is derived from the NASCOM version of MS BASIC and is v4.7.
Note the instructions relating to the file load and store have been removed (there's no file system available on a Mini or Classic).
Extra copy here in case of forgetful internet.

Information about the functions added to the standard MS BASIC  to load Intel HEX files, to run an on-board assembler (Zen), and to read and program in binary (HEX) are in the RC2014 Github readme.

Cheers,
P.
