Hello all!

Houston, I got a strange problem.
I used my RC2014 intensely in January, when I assembled and tested the RTC card. Wrote couple of small programs to use the RTC, and sent them back and forth between my PC (W10, TeraTerm) and RC2014 (CP/M from ROMWBW). No problems.

Now I started to use the RC2014 again, and found out that I cannot send files from PC to RC any more. The Xmodem program seems to hang after the first (128-byte) block.
Direction RC --> PC still works. Also I can send text from TeraTerm to RC (running pip crt:=rdr: there).
Has someone encountered such problem and/or can indicate, where to start digging?
I use Dominique Meurisse's Picoterm, and updated its software recently. But this did not cause the problem, because returning to previous software did not eliminate the problem.

Thank you for help in advance!
Olev

suggestions:
1) check you have RTS/CTS handshake enabled in Teraterm
2) drop baud rate to 57600 or 38400 and try.
3) clarify whether you are using  SIO or ACIA for serial - I recollect that ACIA may be rougher.
4) There is a newer release of ROMWBW you could try. Can use com flavour of build to test, no need to blow new rom until happy.
5) You could experiment with Phillip Steven's CPM-IDE which I think now supports plain CF card, as it has more robust serial IO code than vanilla RC2014 - Grant Searle's CP/M, not romwbw flavour - that's robust but uses its own flavour of Xmodem (XM)

Cheers
Richard

Hello Richard,
thank you very much.

1) yes, RTS/CTS is enabled,
2) will try soon,
3) SIO,
4) I do not want to try new ROMWBW because the older version worked for a long time,
5) see 4).
The most annoying thing is that the problem appeared while (because?) I did nothing.

Forgot to mention, make sure your power is adequate. If you have added rtc, perhaps you have a lower and unstable voltage. Perhaps try power over serial from USB3.

Had the same thing or very similar. It was CTS wire on the FTDI port

Hello again,

unfortunately the problem went away without outside help. Maybe restarting the PC did help...
But thank you all for the advice.
