Hi,

I'm a newbie and playing with a SC720 board. I'm trying to send out bytes from SIO port B. My application is to adress a serial LED display that react to specific commands.

I saw something with SCM like "O" command. My base SIO port is by default 0x80.

But I'm lost at this point. What could be the commands for the SIO port B to be a simple serial output ?

Hi Pierre,

The SCM command:
API 11 55 2
This uses the SCM API call 'Output char to console device' (11 hex) to send a 'U' character (55 hex) to serial port B (device 2)

The assembler equivalent is:
LD  C,$11
LD  A,$55
LD  E,$02
RST 30

SCM reference, user guide, tutorial and source code can be found here:

If you want to see how SCM sets up an SIO and how it transmits and receives a character, look at the SCM source code.

Thank's Steve ;-)

I will try this and let you know.

I've got only RX signal to be used for the serial LED display. Do you think I have to do something with RTS and CTS ?
