Hey all - got myself a Flock floppy controller a while back, and I've finally bought myself a proper 34 -pin cable so I can use my TEAC FD-55B and write files to a 360kb disk, which is, as well a know (:P), the orthodox way to interface with retro and retro-inspired computers. However, I cant quite get it to play nice with my drive. I've fooled around with settings, making sure everything lines up with what the Flock documentation states, but still bupkis. I beliiieeeeeeeve it has something to do with the jumpers on the underside of the drive, but the manual for the FD-55B is very obtuse about what they do (something about drive selections?)
Anyways, any wisdom you all have to impart would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Nate

Hi Nathaniel,

Can you tell us a bit more about what is happening?  What software are you testing with?  FDU.COM?

Do you get any response from the drive at all?  Drive select LED?  Does the drive try to seek?

Thanks,

Wayne

Actually, I figured it out! Turns out the jumpers were incorrect. DS1 and HM needed to be jumpered instead of just DS0. Serge was able to identify the incorrect jumpers when I showed him on the FB group.
Ah, the education we recieve through tinkering....
