Which is the best frame size for me? Pictures

I have a 59 cm Romulus and a 61 cm Toyo Hilsen. The bar height on the Hilsen is temporarily limited by the cable length to the brake levers, so I can raise it once I have taken care of that. I plan on usually running 35-38 mm tires. Currently, the Romulus has 30 mm Gravelking tires and the Hilsen has 33.3 Jack Browns. I can raise the saddle height on both and ride them, I wouldn’t lower it. Which is the better frame size in your opinion?

I appreciate any feedback. I may keep both - I don’t know. Thanks, Dave in Carlsbad

I would say which ever one fits you better wrt saddle to bar distance. I would think the AHH has a slightly longer TT than the Romulus since it is a larger frame. The picture shows the Romulus have a shorter saddle to bar distance and a shorter TTL (from the frame pumps).

Is the stem length and bar reach the same on each??? Which one is more comfortable wrt to the saddle to bar distance??

Which one feels most lively on the road??

Saddle height is easily adjusted, which bike has the more comfortable reach? Stem length is also adjustable with more difficulty, so it depends on what you personally prefer.

The AHH looks like too tall of a frame to comfortably straddle the top tube when stopped and standing (given the seat heights) - it looks like a bike that I would ride. Having a long torso and short PBH, I always rode frames that were "too big" for me to get the handlebars up and further away. If the straddle clearance is OK, then either bike is fine. The AHH would allow you to get the bars higher more easily if that is important to you.

I am a sucker for the cleaner lines (less braze-ons) of the stays and forks of the Romulus though.

A factor to consider if choosing between the two bikes might be the amount of clearances each frame offer for wider tires, especially if at some point fenders are desired.

In terms of fit, both bikes seem to be within reasonable parameters, but your question might be answered by which bike you naturally choose when going for a long ride.
