Folks,
I had my first foray into the "french fit" style of bikes, and I have discovered that It isn't my jam. BUT, that does mean I have a nice orange creamsicle rambo that I'd like to offhaul. It's from the very first batch of frames (double digit serial number), but the brake bridge is in the right spot. It just exactly fits 38cm measured tires with the BR-600 brakes and/or TRP RG 957s. It rides as smooth as a Rivendell should.
I'm selling the Frame, Fork, and Ultegra headset (see note below) for $1100 plus shipping from 94602 (should cost somewhere between $50-$80). I do have those BR-600 brakes (silver) or TRP RG957 (black) and could include them an additional cost.
A couple notes regarding the 24 year old frame:
- It's got some beusage in the paint, I tried to take photos of the worst areas (luckily not in clear view). Otherwise it is a gorgeous color
- There is a small dent in the TT at the 2:00 position about 1/3 from the HT. It's pretty minor and the only dent I can find
- There is some paint bubbling on the TT, but no holes. This is usually a sign of a bit of oxidation below with paint and I poked one of the spots with a poker and didn't see anything that would be alarming to me (as an engineer who has to evaluate corrosion on big steel parts as part of my day job).
- Headset lower bearing is crunchy. I did my best to repack it and it feels fine on the road, but those shimano bearings aren't meant to be serviced. I've got a spare FSA headset if you want that instead.
The fine print: It's still built up as a complete bike, but only the frame, fork, and ultegra headset is for sale. I'd need some time to disassemble and pack.
Happy Monday Folks,
