I only needed a few miles yesterday to pass 4,000 for 2020. Only the 3rd year I've gotten that many (work, weather, other tasks compete for time with riding) but I did them on Louise, my 52 cm Rambouillet. Still rides as great as ever. Bonus: My spouse has asked me to help her train so she can start riding too and she came along for the pedal. If she gets bitten by the riding bug, a Riv could well be in her future.  For now though, a comfort bike is what we are using. Over 16,000 miles on this bike (and over 11,000 on my second hand Riv Road) and I still recommend Rivendells to people asking, "what bike should I buy?".

Hope everyone has a safe New Year Holiday and gets the miles they want in the coming year.

Congrats on 4K miles and on winning yourself a new riding partner. I hope she’s bitten by the bug and we get to see her riding her own shiny, new Rivendell on subsequent threads. She’ll not likely get in on the Platypus run but the Clem Ls are coming! (I say this assuming she wants a mixte/stepthrough since that’s what she rides presently.)

I wish I was ending the year on my RaspberryRiv but I’ll be on my snowmobile instead. Soon enough, though! Yes, I echo your wish that everyone get the miles they are hoping for in 2021.

Happy New Year!

Well done Bruce! So nice that your spouse wants to begin riding; she'll have an outstanding coach:-) Hope to join you on some 2021 rides.

Happy New Year and stay well.

Best,
Rich in ATL

Man, I haven't done 4K miles since about 2006-7. Just a spit away from 2100 this year, usual inhibitor (2,070 today) with hope eternal of a 3K norm, but I plan to retro-add tomorrow's morning ride to church to the 2020 total and round up by 15s; we'll see.

Congrats on both miles and spouse.
