I have no relationship, but as a Saluki lover, I figured I would post this for anyone looking.

That's a stunning NOS frame. I tried hard to convince myself it's a 54-56 like a geometry chart told me it should be, but the seller set me straight. It's 56-56. Ack!

I tell ya, Ted, I love the traditional look of a flat toptube but I see why they've largely fallen out of favor. The reach on that frame would fit me perfect with a Bosco-ish bar, but the saddle would be slammed and I would have 0 standover. Dangit!

Was unusual for this frame to be made without canti posts? or there were just different runs?
Does anyone know the standover for the 56 with presumably the max tires under fenders?  This frame was essentially a 650b proto hilsen if I remember correctly?
Were there any differences?
How is it different from a Bleriot?

Some Salukis had mounts for side pull brakes and some had canti posts.

The geometry chart for the Saluki is on this page at the bottom:

Yes, the Saluki was essentially a Hilsen with 650b tires. For a while, Rivendell offered both. The Saluki name and graphics were for smaller frames and the Hilsen for larger.

Also, the Saluki came first. It's not a proto Hilsen, it's a Hilsen before the name change..I don't know what necessitated that. I like Saluki and its headbadge better.

I’m not sure I agree with that. I’ve had two 60cm Saluki’s and a 58cm Homer Hilsen. All were 650b. I think the Saluki overlapped the AHH and was phased out.

Personally, I prefer the Saluki name and badge.

I have a Hilsen badged Saluki (SA### stamped bottom bracket). Even sized pre MIT Hilsens are Saluki in disguise. But the larger sized Saluki were lost in the consolidation. Largest 650b Hilsen is a 58cm.
I think most Saluki were side pull and the canti ones are kinda rare.

From Rivendell catalogue #19:

"The Saluki is an A. Homer Hilsen that uses 650b wheels . . . . For mid-sized frames (56cm to 60cm), we don't have a [size] preference, which is why A. Homer Hilsens and Saluki overlap sizes in this range . . .We have some [Saluki] models that use cantilever brakes, and some that use bolt-on (sidepull or centerpull) brakes. Same price, same function."

Btw, I believe the Saluki in question does indeed have a 57cm toptube as shown in the geometry chart. The pic on the Ebay listing shows 56 but his tape measure is oriented to give a shorter measurement than accurate.
