Tire Clearance? 55mm Rene Herse Fleecer Ridge Tires on a Waterford Atlantis

Has anyone tried the new 55mm Rene Herse Fleecer Ridge tires on a Waterford Atlantis (size 61cm)? Seems like they might fit.

I don't own an Atlantis, but I'd be very interested to hear how these things ride on pavement compared to the Antelope Hill -- or to the magical 60 mm Schwalbe Big One, in the 450 gram model.

I ask because while the Big Ones roll on pavement like the best road tires I've used, they obviously require careful cornering in loose dirt, including crusher fine-surfaced trails, and I wonder if the Fleecer Ridge will roll very well on pavement while providing more cornering grip in sand and on crusher fine.

This isn't really an answer, I realize, but the 48mm Oracle Ridge very recently released might be a lower-risk option well worth considering. Sounds like it has some further refinement from the Fleecer packed into its design, for a modest drop in volume.

Thanks, Jason; Worth a look, maybe even a try. RH has come out with a few tires recently that I've not read about, this being one of them.

Hello Joshua, 

I have 55mm Rene Herse Fleecer Ridge tires on my 61 cm Waterford Atlantis. I have the extra light casing version of the tires.

They are wonderful tires and the frame has plenty of clearance. 

I've attempted to attach photos showing front and rear clearance. Please excuse the dirt.

The rims are Velocity Atlas and listed as 19.8mm on Velocity's web page.
