In 2006 I decided it was foolish to do 2/3 of my riding, commuting, on beaters when my 2003 Riv Road Custom was gathering dust while hanging on the wall. So I took it to Dave Porter for adjustments to make it fixed-worthy, and turned it into my commuter bike. A year or 2 later I had Chauncey Matthews make a custom, ultra-petite rear commuting rack, About 2015 I asked Chauncey Matthews to replace the Campy 1010s with **really** long dropouts, and add custom f and rear racks with internal dynohub wiring (the
ultima Thule of this progression is the pseudo Riv replacement that he is even as we speak building to replace the 2003 and all of its works).
The 2003 was built by Curt Goodrich as an analogue of the 1999 gofast, but with a derailleur drivetrain. But I asked Curt to install a removable leftside dt shifter boss, and rode it as a 1X10: 46 X Am Classic 11-23 or 12-27.
Here it is in one of its intermediate phases, circa what, 2012?
