Drew. Good catch. I thought it was the sage at first glance with screaming kids. I think I updated the title. I found emailing the seller a good way to get a feel on if it is legitimate. There is always buyer protection as well.

With eBay and PayPal's buyer protection, there's so little risk, besides time and hassle, if something goes wrong. In fact, they err on the side of the buyer a bit too much these days, to the point where I don't like selling on their anymore.

i also dont think it's that weird to have no feedback. a normal, non-ebay business person would maybe only resort to ebay for selling a high priced, specialty item like this. ive considered it for the same purpose, and i would have zero feedback, and no interest in regularly selling items in order to get feedback.

The ad does seem seem properly written, so you're probably right. It's just something to be wary of. It's reassuring when people have experience packing/shipping bikes - though the seller might know.what he's doing, the feedback can be useful as a gauge.

Conversely, all the good feedback in the world doesn't seem to guarantee a properly packed bicycle. I've bought 4 or 5 bikes off Ebay and not a single one showed up without metal scratching metal. No more Ebay for me.
