Please let me know if you have something.  I told him not to get his hopes up. It’s for his errand bike.

Thanks

I think that I have a set of wheels with these. I will look this weekend.

Thanks.  I forgot to mention he wants 36 hole.  I believe he wants a rear.  I think he is using a 5 speed FW.

I don't know that I have ever seen a 27" rim that was not 36 hole.

That's a crackin' deal .  The 27 x 1/4 refers to tire size.

Actually 27x1-1/4 is the rim size - it says it right on the rim.

Laing, I know Araya like to label their rims with such numbers, but it's not the actual width of the rim. Like my '83 Stumpie Araya 7x rim said 26 x 1.75. It was a hair over 32mm wide from measuring it, certainly not 45mm wide !  I'm pretty sure they intend the number to mean the minimum width tire.

Thank you, he will measure his rear spacing later today.

Garth, thank you, I forwarded the info.  He will call to make sure it is alloy, it does not say.

I PM'd but I don't think it went through.
I have a pair of wheels with 27 x 1-1/4 Araya alloy rims. The hubs are Raleigh sealed bearing, The rims also have Raleigh stickers on them. They are Presta stem style rims. They have a little vertical (~10mm - 3/8") extension around the valve hole penetration at the rim - I assume to keep the valve stem perpendicular to the rim. I have never seen another rim with them. They seem to be in good condition.

I forwarded your message to my buddy.  At this point I am not sure what he is going to do. I know he did not want priests for this bike.  If he is interested I will get back to you, that is if he let’s me know.

Thank you Laing.

Joel
