Why not Rivendell? They sell the Silver model in a 40-tooth version.
Maybe you were hoping for a less expen$ive alternative...

Probably not what you're interested in, but I made my own 40T chainguard by using a waterjet to cut aluminum. With the cost of the aluminum sheet and shipping it ended up being rather pricey, but if you have a source of cheaper aluminum sheets and access to a waterjet it would be very cost effective. If you're interested I can upload the CAD files.

I wish Sugino still made those too but I couldn't seem to find one. You could order one (14 bucks) from this guy, which is what i did:

yes, i'm specifically looking for the Sugino version that Riv used to sell, not the Silver version that Riv currently sells (but is out of).
I hadn't realized that Sugino stopped making them.  I guess the market for 40T chainguards is pretty small afterall.

Joey, amazing project..probably not in cards for me though!

Another second for the cheap and good looking BBG Bash Guards.  Picked up one for an old XTR crankset obtained from a member of this group.

I think I have an extra one, I'll look in the bins today. I let a friend ride my Quickbeam once and he wiped out so hard that he bent the pedal, and when I replaced the pedals I felt a wobble on that side. So I bought a new set of cranks with the bashguard.

I'll let you know in a bit.

I don't know for a fact they stopped making them but I've searched multiple times for the Sugino bashguard ring because i like the looks. Have found nothing, but perhaps if I understood Japanese I might be able to cast an even wider net.
