It served its purpose when I was driving my daughter around to events and waiting for her, but I no longer need it. But boy, did I spend plenty on upgrades!

I am the 2nd owner, but the first owner sold it to me in the box it came in, after hardly any use, if any at all. Per my spreadsheet, I have put 678 miles on it, but there are undoubtedly other, unrecorded miles, so let's say 800 miles total, near enough.

Condition is VG: only a few minor scratches which I can identify only by peering at it from 8" in my reading glasses. Bearings and hinges are all fine and work as designed to.

Build:

Wheels: Rear is OEM; front rebuilt with BioLogic folder-specific dynohub.
Tires: Tioga PowerBands, 42s, with tubes containing OS.
Chainset: Viscount 50.4, tapered holes, 52 t ring.
Cog: 15 (69" gear) but I can swap for 17 or 18 (I think) or 16 or 18 t freewheel.
Chain: It has a used 10 sp chain on it, but I have a NIB 1/8" one that I've not gotten around to installing.
Pedals: None, or some generic and used and road-small SPDs if I can find them; no extra charge.
(Note: I am keeping the pedals show in the photo.)
Brakes: Front: Tektro 559; Rear: none. If you use a freewheel -- you know what to do.
Brake levers: Shimano 600, aero, nice. I will re-install the lever proper on the left side.
BB, headset, SP: OEM.
(Note: The seatpost contains a pump with Schraeder head; I've added a Presta adaptor.)
Saddle: Cambium 17.
Bar: Surly Open, cut down by about 2" on each side. Wine bottle plugs.
Bar tape: scrap, but decent; 2 layers.
Rear Dahon cargo rack -- you can actually carry Ortlieb Rollers on the back if you adjust them rearwardly.
Headlamp: Lumotec IQ Premium -- nice light, except in plastic.
Rear: Topline of some sort, dyno operated.
Fenders: plastic, cheap, but they work and are the proper size for the tires.
Crane bell, brass, small.
Banjo Bros cylindrical bar bag. Bag will contain mini-mini pump and a couple of extra tubes, one with OS in it.

Options:
Carradice SQR block and as-new Nelson Camper Longflap: add $100
Pair of almost-as-new black Ortlieb Sports Packers Plus: add $150.

$500 + professional packing and shipping by BikeFlights or the other one.

Will trade for Brompton (maybe); later-than-2014, highish end Mac laptop? Let's talk.

Other photos available upon request.

Please reply off-list.

Thanks.

Hi Patrick -

Is the Hon Solo still for sale?

Sent a message privately.

Happy to take it if you still have it.

Namaste,

It is indeed still for sale, and it is yours, if you will answer a couple of questions:

Presently it is set up with a single, front Brake -- Tektro 559, IIRC pulled by the right lever. The left lever is the hood body only, but I will include the lever proper and the hinge pin.

1. Do you want the current 15 t fixed cog (52 X 15 X 20 = 69" gear), or would you like a bigger cog, or a freewheel? I have:

16 t fixed cog
18 t fixed cog

17 t fw
18 t fw (but cheapo ACS without apparent way to remove it without destroying it in a vice; not sure, but this is possible)

2. Do you want me to install a rear caliper brake? I'll do so as part of the $500 cost, but I'll also take of $15 if you take the bike with the 1 brake and the 2 levers as described.

OR I'll throw in a #4 HPX in place of the rear caliper and the $15.

3. I have a large basket that fits securely on the rear rack and can be held securely in place with a single toe strap. It carries 2 loaded paper grocery sacks and comes with a cargo net. Do you want this? Included in price, but will probably cost a bit extra for packing and shipping.

Apart from these questions, the bike comes ready to ride, and with spare tubes and the tools and bag as described.

I will check about packing and shipping; will have to get exact amount but I will have it professionally packed, and then ship it the cheapest way -- the last time I shipped a bike, I saved the buyer $30 or more by picking up the box at the bike store and taking it to FedEx myself.

I will probably try ShipBikes, said to be cheaper than BikeFlights and possibly more reliable per recent threads.

I will get at least a rough estimate (Tim Fricker, sells folders) for packing and shipping, and you can pay that amount. I'll refund any extra, and bill for any deficit -- Is that OK?

Don't send payment until we get some of this worked out.

Thanks!

Patrick

Corwin: The nearest LBS says $60 to pack and ship; I may try another nearby shop that may be $5 or $10 cheaper.

ShipBikes suggests $75 for a full sized bike from ABQ to the northernmost tip of Vermont

Expect about $140 -- IIRC, I shipped a bike recently and it cost about that.

I will use the cheapest, but only secure and insured for $500, packing and shipping methods, so let's say $140 and adjust up (paypal net) or down (ditto) as needed.

LMK the answers to the questions.

Thanks again.

Patrick
