This is my Rambouillet. There are many like it, but this one is mine. But it also could be yours, since my riding has morphed from spirited weekend rides to plodding urban trips better suited to my Hunqapillar.
Anyway, this is an original, orange, fancy-lugged model, 62cm. Current components include:
- Wheels by Peter Jon White, XTR M900 hubs and MA3 rims. (I also have a PJW-built front wheel with a SON hub and MA3 rims that could be sold on its own or as part of a package deal.)
- Front and rear derailers are Suntour XC9000
- Ritchey Logic triple crank with Harris Cyclery "Century Special" 8-speed cassette
- Cane Creek levers, Tektro sidepulls
- Ultegra headset, UN72 bb
- B17 saddle, "Waybacker" seatpost, Albstache bars, Nitto stem
- SKS fenders, Tubus Fly rack, Carradice saddlebag
I'm building up a Cheviot for my wife, and many of these components would work well in that build, so I could either sell the whole shebang or just f/f/hs/bb.
Pricewise I'm really stuck. I don't know whether to regard this bike as a sought-after classic or an obsolete curiosity from the early days of Rivendell. I'm not interested in holding out for top dollar, but I also don't want to be a sucker. I'm thinking something like $700 for the frameset, $1500 complete, plus actual packing and shipping costs. If that seems out of line I am open to suggestions and/or offers.
I've included a pic of the bike but can also provide closeups if there are particular areas of concern.
