Chauncey just told me that he is using .8 .5 .8 531, with 1" tt and 1.25" dt (didn't ask about other tubes); he praised the tubing. I had told him, no touring-gauge stuff, but also, no .7 .4 .7.

Don't know if he's taken said tubing and joined any of it. But I'm hoping!

Just saying. And anticipating!

Patrick Moore, who just might one day experience "planing."

Hey Patrick. I'm 120 pounds and feel like standard diameter .8/.5 is what I'd look at for a sensible-road/gravel rim-brake frame if I were going custom. I don't know that it would plane, but would probably feel a hell of a lot livelier than all the heavy gauge OS production steel.

How much do you weigh? Also, any idea what Chauncey's lead time looks like? He's building under the name Rabbit Fighter now, right?

I'm 170 and this bike will see gear grocery loads up to 40 lb. But my other light, standard gauge bikes worked just fine for me.

Chauncey's lead time is generally "N + 3 months." But he said end of April for this frame (picked up Riv in March), so perhaps he'll beat his past record. I don't expect it by Thursday, but I hope he will deliver sometime in May.

Yes, Rabbit Fighter is the new brand.

Let us know what you plan.
