Will Mini Motos fit a MTB tire?

No question about Motolites, but will the Minis clear a standard 2" knobby? Say like a Smoke/Dart combo. Want to change my brakes but not my XC Pro levers. Anybody tried this? All they talk about on Paul's site is CX tires.

I've successfully mounted and very briefly rode mini-motos with Schwalbe ThunderBurts 27.5 x 2.1 and there was technically clearance. Was mostly just curious. 

I would not recommend.

biggest i'd go is 45-48mm. after that the top of the tire is uncomfortably close to the cable, if not touching it.
