Looking for 52cm and 59cm Clem H 's

Hi there!

On the lookout for some Clem H completes (or frames) for me and my boyfriend. 

We're big Riv fans, and have been scouring the forums and sites looking for our own ever since coming back from our wanderings in California this past winter. We visited the shop and did some test rides, but there were so many options! With no way to ship them back with us (we had our own, significantly inferior bikes with us to tour on), we left the sunny seascape Riv-less, but hooked.

The 52 is for me (PBH 84) and the 59 is for him. Hoping for some miracles in this absurd bike boom.

Hi Coco, here is a 59 Clem H - not sure if it’s still available. Price was right and there was interest on the List, but the seller never marked it sold, so here ya go.

Not sure I would be promoting that on the RBW List.

That $1200 price is for the frame, fork, headset, bb, & seat post, exactly what Rivendell offers brand new for $900. The seller helpfully mentions that Rivendell is all sold out and not due until spring. And so you know he/she is a big Riv fan, they have moved on to other Rivendell bikes--so Rivendells are good, and cool.

I guess if you want to support someone with ethics that include being very comfortable with price gouging, you could take them up on the offer. Unless maybe the slight marring of the seat tube is considered beausage and makes the bike more valuable.

Thanks for all the leads! Glad to see some other ladies in the Riv group 😄

I think I'm pretty set on the Clem H for myself, vs the L, but the blue ones sure are pretty. We're already on the list for the 59 in Grilver, fingers crossed!

The pricing on that one did seem a little absurd, especially since it's not the complete! I guess the inflation demon really takes hold people in times of crisis... 

If they were selling the complete build, maybe...Even then it's only $150 off from the original Riv complete price

Hi Coco, yes, there is a growing sisterhood here on the List, #RivSisters, I like to say. I hope you find the Clem you’re hoping for and that you guys also get the grilver you’re in line for. You’re right about that Rivendell Blue - it’s so lovely! Here’s mine (though in the L version), and also my son’s, in case you wanted a look at the grilver H... You will let us know when you get your bikes, won’t you?

HI,Coco.  Another #RivSister here.  We always are happy when our little group grows.  Why should the men have all the Riv-love?

I am lucky enough to ride on Leah's (formerly husband's, now son's) Clem H when I go to visit my sister, who lives just a few miles from Leah.  My PBH is 83 and this bike/size will be perfect for you!  As you know, nice and smooth.

I look forward to seeing your soon-to-be-Riv.  BTW, if you cannot get a Clem H, a Joe Appaloosa is a close model.  That is what I have and love (and a Homer). 

I have an ongoing Craigslist search for "Rivendell" and if anything pops up from Washington DC to NY, I'll let you know.

Heck yeah! All the #RivSisters! Glad to learn what you all are riding. The Joe's and Atlantis' are definitely other dream bikes I would love to own in the future. The Clem is just a financially more realistic option at the moment, plus the geo is fairly close to either of the lugged options.

Yes, Coco, what Roberta said! We’d love to know what you found - color and some photos and all that good stuff! I thought you’d have a difficult time finding a 52, so I’m thrilled to know you snagged one somewhere. I rode 21 miles on my Clem today - they’re great bikes. They’re like home.
