I acquired a partially-imagined, and partially implemented bike project on a trade.  Now that I've re-imagined the build project, I think I'd rather do something different in the way of wheels.  So I have a brand new wheelset for sale.  All the parts are new.  A shop back east built the wheels and I've checked them out in my stand.

The rims are Velo-Orange.  They are pre-tubeless.  Tires install VERY easily, but still run straight.  The rear hub is a Grand Bois 130mm large flange road hub, with an 8/9/10 aluminum cassette driver.  The QR skewer that came with the hub is included.  The front hub is a SON28 dynamo.  The 5mm-allen head skewer that came with the dynamo hub is included.  The wheels are 36-spoke, cross 3.  The spokes are double butted, with brass nipples.  Cloth Velox rim tape is installed and included.

The current Rivendell models that would fit this wheelset would be a 49cm Charlie Gallop or a 47cm Roadini.  Since they are 36-hole, I'd call these wheels pretty stout.  Some people dislike modern tubeless compatible rims because tires run tight on them.  If that's you, then this wheel set will make it easy.

This is the equivalent of a ~$800 to $850 wheelset.  I got them as part of a big trade package, so it's hard to attribute how much I have invested in these wheels.  I'd like to sell the wheelset for $450, and hope to deliver them locally.  Let me know if you are intrested.

Not that I am in the market, and I'm Canadian, so not local, but I have to say, that not only are you a fount of bike wisdom, but you also are a mensch when it comes to trading/releasing surplus. I say that without a shred of irony.

Thanks Ryan

Sometimes when I sell something it's a legitimate form of community subconscious crowdsourcing.  If I can't decide between option A and option B, I'll put a piece of option A for sale.  If somebody buys it, then that forces me to option B and helps pay for it.  If nobody buys it, then that's the community subconsciously telling me to proceed with option A.

Meanwhile, I've determined that the model name for these pre-tubeless V-O rims was Diagonale.

Sold!

The community has spoken.  Frank saw the opportunity to buy a nice 650B wheelset for the price of the two hubs and bought these wheels.  Good luck with your build.  That forces my hand away from Option A, and I think I'm going to skip Option B for the moment and never seriously considered Option C.  That leaves me no choice but to move directly to Option D.  The gears are quite literally in motion...
