I am looking for touchup paint for my Rivendell bike.  It is a light metallic blue and the serial number on the frame C97135.  I am wondering what the color is to purchase and where to purchase it.

Thanks

Charlie

Riv doesn't really do touchup paint because even a "perfect" match is still going to be an obvious dollop on the frame..most of us just use whatever's close from Testors or fingernail polish, or clear polish. But your custom was probably painted by Joe Bell so you may have some luck contacting him.

Hi Charlie,
If your frame is the same color as my similar vintage All-Rounder ( https://www.flickr.com/photos/letton/albums/72157621865586906 ) then there is a Testors model paint that is an extremely close match. Sorry, but I've made two international moves since I bought the paint, and I can't easily put my hands on the bottle to get you the name of the color, but if you go to a model shop that has a large selection of Testors paints, you'll probably have no trouble finding it. (If you have no luck, ping me again, and I'll dig for the bottle and get you the name.)
cheers,
Andrew

That's not quite true. Riv sent a small bottle of touchup paint with my grilver Clem H complete when I bought it new from them.

Hey Joe, with that seria #, I'm guessing Waterford and it could be "Light English Blue" Waterford sells touch up paint.

So Riv doesn't really do touchup paint unless it's a custom or Waterford or Clem. I stand corrected..and one of the corrections was from me!

Always appreciated when one is confident enough to be corrected. Even if you are one who corrects yourself.
Good for you Joe. Excited to see what kind of custom Grant produces for you.

That's funny. In an earlier thread I suggested that my orange Rambouillet (funny how that name's recognized after this P-B-P) has transcended from beausage to  "beausavage". No hope of touching up that three layer color, cost of a repaint is a large part of the next bike's cost in a color of my (actually my wife and young lady we mentor's) choice: French vanilla with sky blue lug lining.
