Barcelona/Avignon rental/ride recommendation?

Hello all: my partner and I won’t be in Barcelona and Avignon long enough to warrant bringing Sam and Cheviut, but welcome any recommendations re: bike rental and/or rides in/around these cities.

Sean:

Last year my wife & I visited Barcelona before cycling in Girona (about an hour north on the train). Barcelona does not seem to be a great cycling city, but is easily navigated by foot & subway.

If you are visiting Girona, I can look up the rental company we used. Excellent cycling in the area and good cycling maps are available for putting together your own rides.

Doug: Gerona could be our excuse to get in the saddle outside Barcelona. So, I’d welcome the bike rental reference if you’ve got it.
